Picking

Picking is the process of selecting the ordered stock from the storage location for delivering the customer. System will pick only those items which is relevant for picking, for that the system must determine a storage location in the delivery document (Both these two control elements such as Picking relevance indicator and Storage location determination control elements is available in the delivery item category).
Items in a delivery document can be picked using transfer order. It’s a document type that defines the movement type of the goods within the warehouse such as destination storage bin, source storage bin, and the quantities to be moved etc. The system cannot post the Goods Issue if the picking relevant items in the out-bound delivery are not picked completely as it is a pre-requisite for posting the Goods Issue. That means the picked quantity and the delivery quantity must be the same before posting the goods issue.
If you do not need to implement the complete WM system then Lean WM is sufficient. Using Lean WM means using a small part of the WM functionality of the R/3 system.
